Can MCA Fresher can go for SAP SD consultant or SAP ABAP

Hi,

I'm Ganesh kumar, i did my MCA from SRM University,chennai. I'm a 2008 passout candidate. After finishing my UG (Bsc Comp sci) i was working as a assistant for a product manager (for Switch Gears) in L&T for 2 year period of time, where i get end used to SAP R/3 and i practised in some T-codes like VA01, VA02, VA03, ME22, ME23, MM01, MRHR, MR08, VF01, VF03 etc..

I discussed with some friends who r currently working as SAP Technical and some working as functional consultants, in which some suggested to take SAP ABAB or SAP BASIS ( They are advicing since i did MCA) and some suggested to go for SAP BI 7.0 & some guys are suggesting to go for SAP SD ( since i have two years of Domain experience in Sales). Even some r suggesting for SAP IS- RETAIL (since it has wide opening and demand) even some consultants advised not to take SD because the outcome of SD Consultants are more and the intake is less. I'm in a big confusion to select the modules..

Can any one pls advise me what to take.. also i have a fear that Will my educational background (MCA) an issue if i go for SAP SD?

pls give a clear picture and help me out.. pls pls pls pls,...

Hi Ganesh,

As per your Academic back ground, you should go for SAP ABAP but you have mentioned that you having 2 years domain exp in sales and you having knowledge in sap sd then you can go for SAP SD as well but please don't expect anything in hurry. You have to work hard to get into sap world. I can suggest you two way to get into sap i.e.
1 try to get some thing in sap sd through some strong reference in some manufacturing company in support.
2. you should learn sap and then go for certification for the same and then try.

hi gautham,

You have exp in sd so better if you choose sd rather then ABAP.

Outcome for SD is more but from technical it\'s more then functional. the diff would be 1:2.

You dont have any exp in sap but you have exp in sales you you have domain exp.
But if you choose ABAP you will be considered as a fresher even tough you have domain experience.

so plz choose better one...
