The structure of this note generally reflects the chronological order of actions that you should take, starting with the update of the technical components (refer to the CRM Support Package Guide).
Important remark: first of all, you should have a very clear picture of the components you use in your system landscape. Needless to say, only instructions and notes for components, which you use, are relevant for you. In the appendix of the Support Package Guide you will find a matrix showing the usual business scenarios and the technical components that are required for them to run.
Measured installation time:
The times given for each component are the installation times measured by SAP. Be aware that these times neither include the time you require todownload the Notes nor the time you require to read the respective documentation.

* Functional enhancements
With SAP CRM 3.1 Support Package 5 and upwards, several functional enhancements have been made available. To implement this optional functional enhancements please follow the instructions in note 629487.

Should you already have a BW system installed, you can also use SAP BW 3.0B SP11. You can stay on this release if the business content of this BW content fulfils your requirements, but you should be aware that the additional BW content utilized by most of the CRM roles (particularly the 'Sales Representative' and 'Service Representative' roles is not available with this release.
