you can use crystal report to retrieve data from sap, you can generate any report and can export data to xl or any other format, to access sap data from crystal report u need to have sap kit from cyrstal solutions. apart from crystal reports, you also need to install sap kit, and then access all the sap tables and generate reports as u want.

you need to deploy the crystal report onto the AOE server.

actually you need a BOE server which is almost like a netweaver server or ITS or WAS. all the crystal reports need to be deployed on to this BOE server in advance. then your customer can view these reports by using web browser.
