The Document date is the date of the particular invoice or accounting document which you read and the posting date is same as the entering date in your system. That is posting date is equal to the entry date of the particular document in the respective account. CPU date is the system date which is configured by the the system admin.

If the system is connected on the server then it could be the server CPU date as well.

For e.g. If you receive the telephone bill on 30.09.16 then 30th is the document date and if you enter in system on 2.10.16 , then 2nd Oct is the entry or posting date. If both the dates are different then if automatically affects the particular income or expenditure account. As it may reduce or increase your income or liability for the particular month based on the posting.
