How MRP run takes place and what all the parameters needs to be considered when running an MRP.

Updated May 18, 2018

Running MRP types

1. MDBT-running MRP in background
2. MD01- plant level for all the materials in that plant
3. MD02 transaction for materials with multi level(BOM explotion multi level
4. MD03-for single level(will not explode the BOM only one level)

Parameters

1. Processing key -
Specifies the type of the MRP or MPS run. The following types are possible:

net change planning in the planning horizon - NETPL= material in planning horizon should be considered
Net change planning - NETCH = materials in the total horizon should be considered
NEUPL = online regenerative planning - all the materials in the plant irrespective of its status change-usually run during go live or when there is a inconsistency.

2. Create PR-

Creation Indicator for Purchase Requisitions

For materials procured externally, this indicator controls whether the system: (materials with F indicator in MRP2 view)

o creates purchase requisitions for the total planning horizon,

o creates planned orders for the total planning horizon which are manually converted into purchase requisitions at a later date,

o creates purchase requisitions within the opening period and planned orders outside the opening period.

Dependencies

In the single-item planning run, the system always uses the creation indicator specified in the initial screen of the planning run. The creation indicator maintained in the MRP group is not taken into account.

3. Automatic Schedule Lines (Scheduling Agreements)

Indicator controls whether, during the planning run, the system(this is applicable for materials with contract /agreements in place so hat it will refer that)

o never creates schedule lines,

o only creates schedule lines in the opening period, or

o whether it creates schedule lines in the planning horizon.

Dependencies

The system always uses the creation indicator that you maintain in the initial screen of the planning run. The creation indicator that is maintained in the MRP group is not taken into account.

4. Creation Indicator for MRP Lists

Indicator controls whether the system;

o should always create an MRP list for all planned materials

o should create an MRP list for certain materials depending on the exception message

o should never create an MRP list for planned materials

Dependencies

In the single-item planning run, the system always uses the creation indicator specified in the initial screen of the planning run. The creation indicator maintained in the MRP group is not taken into account. (don’t activate unless it is required. anyway stock requirement list will be there irrespective of this setting)

5. Planning mode

Defines how procurement proposals from the last planning run are to be dealt with:

The system reactivates unfirmed procurement proposals and, if necessary, adapts the quantity and date to the new planning situation. The BOM is re-exploded only for procurement proposals that are to be adapted.

o The system reactivates unfirmed procurement proposals and, if necessary, adapts the quantity and date to the new planning situation. The BOM is always re-exploded.

o The system regenerates unfirmed procurement proposals completely.

6. -Scheduling planned orders -

Determines whether only the basic dates are determined for planned orders, or whether lead time scheduling is carried out as well. The indicator refers to all planned orders that are new or have been changed or have been re-exploded for the BOM. (system takes the data from material master - MRP 2 view - in-house production for basic dates) for lead time scheduling system takes the data from routing and generate capacity requirement in WC.

The system will continue to use lead time scheduling in the future for planned orders that have already undergone lead time scheduling, even if you choose basic date termination.
