How to take your first steps to Learn SAP XI/PI

Almost every day I come across more then 4-5 forums/thread regarding:-

  1. Learning XI: https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?forumID=44&threadID=689152
  2. XI Basics: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=428662
  3. XI Books: https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?forumID=44&threadID=689152
  4. Most of the time forum only with subject “Hi” or “XI”: https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?forumID=44&threadID=689156
  5. XI syllabus: https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?forumID=44&threadID=688484
  6. Study Material, XI Training and Many mores

So I tried my best to create a referral document that will give all the answers of the above as well as same questions asked by many users. Also it will help to new SDNer’s to make the effective search on SDN.

How to learn SAP XI: There can be many documents/links that will give you the overview of XI and its components, but as a beginner which is perfect to me? If this is the questions in your mind then eLearning on SDN is the only place. Here is the link for it https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/xi-elearning

From the above link it is very easy to get XI Beginners, Immediate and Advance course material. All the presentation from this link can be downloadable by any user who has SDN Username and PasswordJ

Best documents to get an overview of XI: eLearning does not cover everything and even some time I don’t understand many terms (like Adapters, Integration Engine, Adapter Engine, Java stack, ABAP stack, Context, Mapping etc ), so where should I look the definition of all these? If this comes in mind then do not hesitate to refer http://help.sap.com

For XI/PI here is the direct link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

Why every link goes to home page of saptechies.com?

Is this just to increase the number of hits to attract more advertisement?

Useless site!
