for a engineering graduate having 10yrs exp in telecom it will be best if he for for SAP BASIS because FICO is no way related to engineering and it will be very difficult you to convince Interviewing person why u in SAP FICO with no educational knowledge of accounting and Having good knowledge of telecom which is a technical field ..
He will straight ask a Q why u want to do FICO as u have good knowledge of Telecom and u could go for SAP BASIS that field fit to your domain..
so i will suggest u to go for SAP BASIS.. but if you have confidence in u for FICO then u can go for it ....

skill set we need to understand SAP Basis
for a SAP BASIS u need to have any Technical Degree like (BE, Btech, MCA, MTech, MSC with Computer Science, BIT)
and if you have at least one OS(Operating System Like windows Server 2003, 2000, Linux, Sun Solaris, HPUX, Unix) Good Understanding.
and at least one Database Knowledge Like (Oracle, DB2, MaxDB)
this will help u to get good JOB in SAP BASIS.
Thanks for your suggestion.I will do SAP-BASIS.But,Please,clarify one small doubt.I have knowledge of Windows 2000 OS,But,no knowledge of any Database.In SAP-BASIS training,will they teach Database.If i do the course sincerely,in how many months i will become a SAP-BASIS professional.After that will you do me help in getting a Job.

I want to do SAP module in HR or CRM !!! Can I do these modules my background is BE (Ind. PROD ENGG. ) + PGDM ( marketing ) do have retail experience of more than 3 yrs. in sales.
