Hi All,
If you are attempting the new Basis Exam I thought I\'d comment on the new format of the Netweaver 7.0 associate level, you can now actually fail the DB section and still pass. Let me explain:
Each topic no matter how many questions is calculated on an average.
e.g. 10 questions for DB topic and 1 question for SMTP topic. Get 8 questions correct for DB 80% for that topic. Get the single question wrong for SMTP and receive 0% for that topic. At the end of the exam all topic percentages are added together and then divided by the sum. If we look at just the two topic results above 80% + 0% = 80% / 2 = 40%.
You would expect that there is 11 questions in total 8 correct and therefore 73%, but it doesn\'t work like that.
Just by incorrectly answering the topics that have 1 to 2 questions can cripple your exam mark. Therefore it is possible to get the majority of questions correct and still fail, but this also means you can do well on the majority of subjects and get 0% for the DB section and pass. Marking is based on topic averages.
When I did the exam in January there were 23 topics and I can remember three topics that had single questions. Basically you need to know everything on a topic where they\'ll be a few questions.
