Thank you for this great article. A consultant was telling my company to place a pc in the DMZ and give the pc a static public IP. That would have been a big mistake on my opinion. I asked the consultant was that the only solution since the SAP server was in the same room next to Windows server. I believe your article is telling me to change the IP for the SAProuter? If I am mistaken what is the best approach to get SAP to send email and data across the same domain? We have SAP and an Oracle database running on TRU64 UNIX. We just did all of the firmware updates and finally got access to the switch. I assumed a responsibilty of a network without any whitepages or documentation on what direction the company was going. I have gotten some assistance on what they would like to do but this is one that is not in my direct experience. If you can help in anyway with suggestions or advice I would be greatly appreciated.
