Job Description :
The role of the SAP Purchase to Pay Global Process Lead is to provide and implement solution design throughout all phases of the process and application lifecycle. Successfully deliver business solutions in complex domestic and international environments, from business processes and data requirements definition, system design, go-lives', and project management.
This person must come from a background where they have overseen a matrix organization of subject matter experts, not solely performed production support. The ideal candidate will provide Strategic sourcing, procurement and SAP subject matter expertise and be accountable for the business requirements gathering, best application configuration of a global template, and be responsible for ensuring that the solution design meets those business requirements.
The successful candidate will support a rigorous methodology that will enable multiple SAP program to retain compliance with the Global SAP Template for Purchase to Pay while also supporting business initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives. The Purchase to Pay Applications Lead works closely with the business community and Business Process Leads to understand current processes, develop innovative solutions, prioritizes activities and troubleshoots application functionality.
Principal Duties:
Business Process:
• Responsible for the governance and maintenance of the global template.
• Leads direct reports, 3rd party organizations in configuration, development and testing of changes, and regional team members in requirements definition and implementation.
• Works closely with business subject matter experts and leaders to define and improve business processes.
• Works closely with other Business Process Leads to ensure tight integration between business functions.
• Maintains awareness of SAP process strengths, supported best practices and development release schedule to assist in defining future direction.
• Work closely with the technical development team to ensure accurate and timely code that matches the designs
• Support the governance model for enhancements to the SAP platform that supports the customer - focused approach but ensures compliance to the business process management goals and objectives
• Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the end-to-end project solution. This includes creation of the detailed project design, functional specifications, and test plans. Participation in projects from define through deployment is expected.
• Responsible for establishing detailed and realistic business requirements in the blueprint phase of projects and identify gaps in the strategic sourcing, procurement, Requisitions, Purchase order
• Goods receipt, and accounts payable areas. Responsible for coordinating business review and obtaining sign off on business requirements prior to beginning the next project phase. Responsible for ensuring that functional specifications are developed in the design phase of
projects meet the business requirements outlined.
• Monitor projects throughout all phases to ensure compliance to design standards, global template and to ensure that the designed solution matches the business requirements, alerting project and IT leadership when there are potential disconnects.
• Responsible for ensuring that detailed project design maintains architectural design principles related to reusable services, common technology underpinnings, and strategic technical capabilities such as Services Oriented Architecture, Web Services, etc. Design must also
maintain alignment to the architectural plan and roadmaps.
• Provide subject matter expertise to projects with regards to strategic sourcing, procurement evaluated receipts and match and pay, dual sourcing, and purchasing business processes. This expertise should be from a process perspective, and will cross multiple technologies.
Qualifications:
• Experience in implementing at least 3 large-scale or complex IT projects, preferably in a lead role.
• At least 5+ years of ERP production planning and order fulfillment applications experience including SAP Releases ECC6.0 (preferably with SRM, SNC, SCM, SD, MM, PP, FI-AP, and QM) implementation experience is required.
• Functioned as lead application architect/consultant for supply chain, production planning applications for Fortune 500 companies
• Ability to develop clear and detailed business requirements and design specifications that can be understood by other consultants, including global partners.
• Ability to translate business requirements into design options that are cost effective, efficient, re-usable that comply with defined architectural principles and standards and that enhance the business process.
• Strong experience in process improvement, with an emphasis towards analytics and process management through Lean, and Six Sigma tools.
• BS/BA in from an accredited university with strong experience in supply chain preferred formal background in any of the following: supply/distribution planning, APICS-Production and Inventory Management, Master Production Planning certifications, consulting experience
with global IT consulting firm.
• Must possess a high degree of professional confidence and credibility, with the presence and communication skills to represent IT related concepts effectively with all levels of the business. Experience in an established technology consulting firm is recommended.
