1. Prerequisites for installing SEM-BW 400
o You can install the Add-on SEM-BW 400 on two products: NetWeaver04 and SAP ERP 2004. BW Release 350 is supported.
o The Add-On FINBASIS 300 and at least Release 2004_1_640 of the Add-On PI_BASIS are required for the SEM-BW 400 installation. Therefore, the structure of your system is as follows:
SEM-BW 400
FINBASIS 300
PI_BASIS 2004_1_640 (or higher PI_BASIS releases)
NetWeaver04 (or SAP ERP 2004)
o Importing the latest kernel
Import the latest kernel version into your system; otherwise you cannot import enough data during the import.
o Import the latest SPAM/SAINT update
Make sure you have imported the most recent SPAM/SAINT update in your system. Compare the short text of the last SPAM/SAINT update (SAPKD000*) you imported with the short text of the SPAM/SAINT update on SAP Service Marketplace. If there is a newer version on SAP Service Marketplace, import this new SPAM/SAINT update.
o Install the Add-on FINBASIS 300 ("SAP ERP 2004 SR1 Components 2004 DVD" Material number 51030865). For more information, see Note 718457.

2. Preparing to install SEM-BW 400
o Import the required user language for all the components that are already installed. This language import should be carried out before the installation of SEM-BW.
o Install the add-on installation CD or DVD.
o Log on as user
< sid>adm for UNIX,
< SID>OFR for AS/400,
< SID>adm for Windows NT.
o Go to the transport directory of your SAP System. With transaction AL11, the transport directory is also displayed under DIR_TRANS.
o Unpack the CAR archive KIEN09A.SAR with the following statement:
CD installation on NetWeaver 04:

SAPCAR '-xvf /QOPT/<VOLID>/DATA/KIEN09A.SAR' (AS/400)

o Now check whether the file

exists in your /EPS/in (Inbox of Electronic Parcel Service) directory.
3. Installing SEM-BW 400
o Log on to your system in Client 000 as a user with SAP_ALL authorization. Do NOT use the SAP* or DDIC users.
o Making add-on installation packages visible:
Call transaction SAINT and choose "Load". Once the system has displayed the list of uploaded packages, you can choose "F3" or "Back" to go back to the initial screen of transaction SAINT.
o Starting the installation:
To do this, call transaction SAINT, select the Add-on SEM-BW 400 and choose "Continue". If all the necessary conditions are fulfilled for importing the add-on, the system now displays the relevant queue. The queue consists of the installation package and may also contain Support Packages and add-on packages. To start the installation process, choose "Continue". To obtain more information, call transaction SAINT and choose the relevant button in the application toolbar.
When you start the installation of the Add-on SEM-BW 400, the system requests a password. Use the following key:

4. After installing SEM-BW 400
o Update the kernel patch level of your system before the start-up of the Add-On SAP SEM 4.0, if the kernel patch level is lower than 13. The add-on is only fully operational with kernel patch level 13 or higher.
o Language import: The system performs the SEM-BW language import only for languages already installed. If you have not completely imported the user language prior to the SEM-BW installation, the SEM-BW language import will also only be carried out partially.
o The call "tp postlanguageimport" of the tp tool in the transport directory with the request number SAPKIEN09A starts the subsequent import of missing translations.
o Prior to the start-up of the Add-On SAP SEM 4.0, carry out the preliminary configurations listed in Note 724418.
